Interventional Procedures (Biopsy, FNA, Aspiration & Hook Wire Localisation)

Interventional procedures can be performed under computed tomography (CT), ultrasound or mammography by NIA Diagnostic Imaging’s highly skilled and experienced radiologists.

Additionally, we understand that some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, hence we have female radiologists and female staff to suit patient’s needs and preferences.

NIA Diagnostic Imaging BULK-BILLS and performs the following interventional procedures:

  • Breast Core Biopsies
  • Breast Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Biopsies
  • Thyroid FNA Biopsies
  • Aspirations of Lumps & Abscesses
  • Hook Wire Localisations under Ultrasound or Mammography

Preparation

Please bring any previous diagnostic imaging and reports related to the area.

Usually there are no specific preparations required for the listed interventional procedures.

Appointment required.

However, we will accommodate for urgent cases to provide same-day appointments and report.
