Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography)

Breast tomosynthesis uses compression paddles and low-dose x-ray to capture multiple images of the breast tissue in just a few seconds. These images are then reformatted to create a 3D image for more detailed visualisation of the breast tissue, and this allows for improved accuracy, and greater detection of breast cancers and other breast pathologies.

This state-of-the-art technology, powered by Hologic® – the global industry leader in breast health – is readily available at NIA Diagnostic Imaging, and we BULK-BILL for all non-screening mammogram referrals. With a team of experienced mammographers, sonographers and radiologists on site, NIA Diagnostic Imaging can collaborate with the managing clinicians to deliver a seamless diagnosis journey for patients – from 3D mammography, ultrasound to image guided biopsies.
