Liver Fibrosis Staging
Liver fibrosis staging can be conducted by performing Fibroscans (also known as shear wave elastography). It is a non-invasive ultrasound technique which evaluates the change in liver stiffness. By quantifying this stiffness, we can use this technology to assess, stage and manage liver fibrosis.
At NIA Diagnostic Imaging, we perform Fibroscans in conjunction with a routine abdominal ultrasound and use the latest GE’s LOGIQ E10 series ultrasound system to stage fibrosis in the liver.
