Calcium Scoring<\/strong><\/p>

Calcium Scoring involves using x-rays to generate fine slices of the coronary arteries to determine if they are blocked or narrowed by plaque buildup. If there is evidence of this, it indicates presence of atherosclerosis or coronary artery disease (CAD). The analysis obtained can help determine whether you are at increased risk for heart attack.<\/p>

CT Cardiac Angiography (CTCA)<\/strong><\/p>

Cardiac Angiography examines the arteries that supplies the blood to your heart.<\/p>

In order to obtain clear, diagnostic images, beta-blockers are given to you via oral consumption, and in some cases, via your veins to reduce your heart rate. This will help to reduce motion artefact and blurriness for better visualisation of your arteries.<\/p>

To further improve the study, an iodine-based dye (contrast) will also be given via your veins to highlight the vessels in your heart. This will provide a better understanding of their structure and help detect abnormalities.<\/p>

Preparation<\/strong><\/p>

Please bring any previous diagnostic imaging and reports related to the area.<\/p>

There are preparations required for Calcium Scoring and CTCA. Please call us for more information.<\/p>
